Experience the mudflats!

Many of our guests want to experience the Wadden Sea in a very special way.

You can!
About 2-4 hours before low tide we run aground with the Vertrouwen on a sandbank.
After about 20 minutes, the ship can no longer be moved. It lacks water.
Depending on your mood, you can then swim in the shallow water (about 80 cm deep), while the first sandbanks around the Vertrouwen are already drying up.

The large number of birds begins to feed along the flood line. Among the birds are many migratory birds that use the Wadden Sea as a resting place on their long journey.
The Wadden Sea offers a lot of food such as mussels, lugworms, etc...
Soon there will be no more water around the ship, and you can explore the mudflats with "dry" feet.
Many special animals and plants populate this world between low and high tide.
Mussels and oysters can often be collected, cooked and eaten fresh.

A tremendous experience!

After about 4-8 hours there is enough water again and the journey can be continued.
